Call to Worship
While making the sign of the cross:
God, come to our assistance.
Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to the Father and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now and will be forever. Amen. Alleluia!
Hymn
Come, Holy Spirit (1)
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come to us!
Come, Holy Spirit, come,
From Heaven, direct your Light.
Come, Father of the poor,
Come, Giver of all God’s gifts.
Come, Light of our hearts!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come to us! [repeat twice]
Come, O Soul’s most welcomed Guest!
Console and relieve our hearts.
Come, Tender Mother!
Refresh our burdened souls.
Come, Light of our hearts!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come to us! [repeat twice]
Light, most Blessed.
Shine on our darkened hearts,
for without your help, we can do nothing good.
Our world is filled with sin.
Come, Light of our hearts!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come to us! [repeat twice]
Wash clean our sinful souls,
Rain down your grace on our parched souls.
Soften the hardened heart,
cherish and warm the ice-cold heart.
Come, Light of our hearts!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come to us! [repeat twice]
Give your servants holy gifts,
for we place our trust in you.
Give to us salvation, Lord.
Give us unending Bliss.
Come, Light of our hearts!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit!
Come to us! [repeat twice]
PSALMODY
Psalm 141:1-9
Ant. O Lord, let my prayer rise before you like incense, my hands like an evening offering.
O Lord, let my prayer rise before you like
incense, my hands like an evening offering.
Lord, I am calling: hasten to help me.
Listen to me as I cry to you.
Let my prayer rise before you like incense,
my hands like an evening offering.
O Lord, let my prayer rise before you like
incense, my hands like an evening offering.
Lord, set a guard at my mouth,
keep watch at the gate of my lips.
Let my heart not turn to things that are wrong,
to sharing the evil deeds done by the sinful.
No, I will never taste their delights.
O Lord, let my prayer rise before you like
incense, my hands like an evening offering.
The good may reprove me,
In kindness chastise me,
but the wicked shall never anoint my head.
Every day, I counter their malice with prayer.
O Lord, let my prayer rise before you like
incense, my hands like an evening offering.
To you, Lord my God, my eyes are turned:
In you I take refuge; do not forsake me.
Keep me safe from the traps they have set for me,
from the snares of those who do evil.
O Lord, let my prayer rise before you like
incense, my hands like an evening offering.
Praise to the Father, praise to the Son,
all praise to the life giving Spirit.
As it was, is now, and shall always be
for ages unending. Amen.
Ant. O Lord, let my prayer rise before you like incense, my hands like an evening offering. (2)
Psalm Prayer
Lord,
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
Your name is worthy of all praise.
Let our prayer come like incense before you.
May the lifting up of our hands
be as an evening sacrifice
acceptable to you,
Lord, our God.
Psalm 114
Ant. Send us your strength, O God, from your holy temple in Jerusalem, and perfect your work in us, alleluia.
When Israel came forth from Egypt,
Jacob’s sons from an alien people;
Judah became the Lord’s temple;
Israel became his kingdom.
The sea fled at the sight:
the Jordan turned back on its course;
the mountains leapt like rams
and the hills like yearling sheep.
Why was it, sea, that you fled,
that you turned back, Jordan, on your course?
Mountains, that you leapt like rams,
hills, like yearling sheep?
Tremble, O earth, before the Lord,
in the presence of the God of Jacob,
Who turns the rock into a pool
and flint into a spring of water.
Glory to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning
is now and will be forever. Amen.
Ant. Send us your strength, O God, from your holy temple in Jerusalem, and perfect your work in us, alleluia.
CANTICLE

Whose judgments are honest and true.

all who worship God reverently, great and small.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
The Lord, our all-powerful God, is King;
Let us rejoice, sing praise, and give God glory.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
The wedding feast of the Lamb has begun,
and His bride is prepared to welcome Him.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Ant. All were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak, Alleluia.
Reading
A Reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians
(Ephesians 4:3-6)
Brothers and Sisters: Make every effort to preserve the unity which has the Spirit as its origin and peace as its binding force. There is but one body and one Spirit, just as there is but one hope given all of you by your call. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all, and works through all, and is in all.
The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
Take a few moments to reflect on the reading.
Responsory
Veni Sancte Spiritus,
Veni Sancte Spiritus,
Veni, Veni Sancte Spiritus,
Veni Sancte Spiritus.
Veni Sancte Spiritus,
Veni Sancte Spiritus,
Veni, Veni Sancte Spiritus,
Veni Sancte Spiritus. (3)

The Magnificat (4)
Luke 1:46-55
Ant. Today we celebrate the feast of Pentecost, alleluia; on this day the Holy Spirit appeared before the apostles in tongues of fire and gave them spiritual gifts. He sent them out to preach to the whole world, and to proclaim that all who believe and are baptized shall be saved, alleluia.
While making the sign of the cross:
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
My spirit sings to God, my saving God,
Who on this day, above all others, favored me
And raised me up, a light for all to see.
Through me, great deeds will God make manifest
And all the earth will come to call me blest.
Unbounded love and mercy sure will I proclaim
For all who know and praise God’s holy name.
God’s mighty arm, protector of the just,
Will guard the weak and raise them from the dust.
But mighty kings will swiftly fall from thrones corrupt.
The strong brought low, the lowly lifted up.
Soon will the poor and hungry of the earth
Be richly blest, be given greater worth.
And Israel, as once foretold to Abraham,
Will live in peace throughout the promised land.
All glory be to God, Creator blest,
To Jesus Christ, God’s love made manifest,
And to the Holy Spirit, gentle Comforter,
All glory be, both now and evermore.

Intercessions
God the Father has glorified the Church in unity through Christ. With joy in our hearts, let us ask our God:
Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come to us.
You desire the unity of all Christians through one baptism in the Spirit. Make all who believe one, in heart and soul.
Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come to us.
You desire the whole world to be filled with the Spirit. Help all humanity to build a world of justice and peace.
Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come to us.
Lord God, Father of all, you desire to gather together your scattered children in unity of faith. Enlighten the world by the grace of the Holy Spirit.
Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come to us.
Through the Spirit, you make all things new, heal the sick, comfort the distressed. Give salvation to all.
Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come to us.
For the sick who have asked us to accompany them with our prayers, that they may experience your merciful and healing touch today.
Please pray aloud the names of those who are sick or in need of healing.
Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come to us.
Through the Spirit you raised your Son from the dead, raise up the bodies of the dead into everlasting life.
Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come to us. (5)
The Lord’s Prayer
And now let us pray with confidence as Christ our Lord asked:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
Closing Prayer
Father in heaven,
Our minds were prepared for
the coming of your kingdom
when you took Christ beyond our sight
so that we might seek him in his glory.
May we follow where he has led
and find our hope in his glory,
for he is Lord for ever and ever.
Amen.
Blessing
While making the sign of the cross:
May the Lord bless us,
protect us from all evil and
bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.
Reginia Caeli (6)
Reginia Caeli laetare, alleluia,
